Life in the Hard Lane – Shared Stories Project
(YouTube Channel)
Thank you for considering sharing your story with Life in the Hard Lane. This project is built on honesty, resilience, and connection. I want to hear your story—raw, real, and unfiltered. Tell me about the hardships you’ve faced and how you found your way through them. Your ah-ha moments, whether profound, painful, or surprising. Any realizations from the injustices or challenges you’ve endured. What were your circumstances? How did others respond? Were you misunderstood? Blocked? Supported? And if you could go back and change something—what would that be?
Your voice matters, and by contributing, you're helping build a transparent, compassionate world.
Terms of Submission
By submitting your story through this website, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
1. Modification for Privacy
Your submission may be edited to protect your identity. This includes changes to names, locations, and other identifying details. These modifications help preserve your privacy and minimize the risk of defamation or unwanted exposure.
2. Consent for Publication
You grant full permission for your story—edited or unedited—to be published on the YouTube channel Life in the Hard Lane, affiliated websites, social media platforms, and other digital or print media used to promote the project. The purpose of sharing your story is educational, informational, and inspirational.
3. Use of Contributions
Any financial support provided via Buy Me a Coffee, Patreon, or similar platforms is considered a voluntary contribution to support the ongoing production and outreach of Life in the Hard Lane. These funds help amplify unheard voices. Contributions are made in good faith and are not refundable or tied to any service or product.
4. No Compensation or Obligation
All stories, feedback, and support submitted to the channel are shared voluntarily. The channel and its creators assume no obligation to provide compensation, recognition, or reciprocal support. Your story is your gift to others going through hard times.
5. Data Handling & Security
We respect your trust. Personal information submitted with your story will be used only in connection with this project. It will not be sold or shared externally, and all data will be managed according to our Privacy Policy. Reasonable steps will be taken to protect your data from unauthorized access or misuse.
6. Approval Before Publication
You may choose to submit your story in writing or as a voice recording. I will rewrite your story (if needed), then send it to you for review and approval before publishing on YouTube. No story will be published without your final sign-off.
7. Future Publishing Option
If you opt-in to have your story included in a future book publication, please understand that the publishing process will take time. Priority will be given to building a strong audience base before compiling and releasing printed or digital book versions.
8. Future Book Publication & Contributor Compensation
If your story is selected for inclusion in a future book publication associated with Life in the Hard Lane, a fair and transparent compensation structure will be developed before any publishing takes place.
All selected contributors will be contacted directly with a written offer outlining the proposed terms, including financial compensation or equivalent value exchange. Participation in the book is entirely optional, and no story will be published in print without explicit contributor consent.
We believe in shared success—and that powerful, personal stories deserve recognition. If you choose to participate in the book project, we encourage you to help promote it. In today’s world, shared media is powerful, and your involvement can help amplify your voice and others like you.
Your Rights & My Promise
By submitting your story, you confirm that:
-
You have read and agree to these terms.
-
You voluntarily give permission for your story to be published and edited as necessary.
-
You release Life in the Hard Lane and all affiliated persons from any liability associated with your submission.
I promise to treat your experience with the care, dignity, and respect it deserves. This project is about building truth from trauma, connection from chaos, and lessons from life’s hardest moments.
